A pattern becomes evident with just a quick glance at the brief but illustrious history of the Little Rock Touchdown Club's annual awards. Something's in the water in Greenwood. Daniel Stegall, a former Bulldog quarterback who went on to try professional baseball, was honored as his classification's (4A) player of the year in 2005. Tyler Wilson, who just completed his junior season in leading Arkansas to an 11-2 season, was this year's Southeastern Conference offensive player of the year as chosen by the club. And Drew Morgan, a junior who led Greenwood to yet another Class 5A state crown, was the 5A player of the year. read more >

Scan the various preseason baseball rankings and you'll see Arkansas ranked among the nation's Top 10 teams. But if you really want a sense of where Dave Van Horn has his program, check out the most recent construction project at Baum Stadium. Crews have been working to bring the right-field fence in 10 feet, meaning the ball will have to travel 365-plus feet to get out of the park instead of 375. LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, who helped lead the Tigers to the national championship game, failed to win in his two trips to War Memorial Stadium as a Tiger, but he'll get a third chance at a win at the Little Rock stadium on Feb. 4. Gulley Officially Part Of Razorback Basketball Team, Waithe Still Sidelined By Calf Injury

Oklahoma State point guard Fred Gulley has joined the Arkansas basketball team. Gulley was on the bench in street clothes for the Razorbacks' victory against Auburn on Wednesday and Coach Mike Anderson confirmed a day later that the Fayetteville native is part of the team. Currently, Gulley is a walk-on and not on scholarship. Because he left OSU at semester, Gulley will be eligible to play after fall grades are posted in December 2012. He'll have a year-and-a-half to play for the Razorbacks. read more >
