Kris Allen made an appearance at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville on Monday and the 2009 American Idol winner played nearly two hours. His set list featured songs off his self-titled major label debut and included a number of cover songs. Kanye West's "Heartless" is an Allen staple, but he also played a version of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android".No song, though, resonated with fans quite like the moment Allen led the sold out crowd in a Hog Call. Even Allen's hit "Live Like We're Dying", which peaked at No. 18 on Billboard's Hot 100, didn't get the crowd going quite like Calling the Hogs.
Here's the moment:
The George's show was something of a homecoming for Allen. He grew up in the state and his wife, Katy, is a University of Arkansas graduate. In fact, she was the 2007 Homecoming queen at the UA.
And to answer the burning questions you no doubt have...
*Why was a stuffed E.T. doll dressed in Hog gear on stage with Allen? No clue.
*Why was I at a Kris Allen show? My wife (who supplied the photo) invited me. And after all the shows I've dragged her to, it's, you know, only fair.
