UCA Grants Conque Five-Year Extension

Every so often a coach gets a contract extension and you’re left scratching your head.
News from UCA that Clint Conque had his contract extended (terms were not disclosed) didn’t elicit that reaction. Sure, Conque and the Bears struggled to a 5-7 record in 2009, but the overall body of work is solid.
Conque is entering his 11th season at UCA and is second in career victories with 73. He led the Bears to a first-place finish in the Southland Conference in 2008.
See? Not much reason to second-guess the Bears keeping Conque around.
