Arkansas will meet the press this morning at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala. Coach Bobby Petrino, tight end D.J. Williams, defensive end Jake Bequette and some guy named Ryan Mallett will represent the Razorbacks in front of the 1,000 or so folks with credentials to SEC Media Days.
Mallett and Williams have been featured on ESPNs College Football Live this summer. Both have received their share of national press coverage over the last year, but this will be the first time for them to truly be in a spotlight this bright.
Petrino and the players have done their best locally to raise expectations and get Arkansas mentioned in the SEC West, SEC and national championship conversation.
*Will they back off that title talk with so many from the national media on hand?
*Will Mallett be wearing his boot?
*Will Williams play piano in the Wynfrey lobby like he did during last year’s media appearance?
As Mallett would say: “get ready.” We’re about to find out…
While you wait on that, check out our coverage from Wednesday:
*Nobody does crazy quite like Alabama fans. Max Farrell has video to prove it. (And, yes, we've mentioned this before, but it never gets old.)
*Alabama isn’t interested in rehashing 2009.
*Nick Saban and Urban Meyer aren’t happy with agents preying on college players.
*Jim Harris is keeping an eye on what folks are saying about Arkansas. It’s not all flattering.
