ESPN Doesn't Think Much of Arkansas' Defense

7/28/2010 at 9:36am

Perception is Arkansas has a bad defense. How poorly do some think of a Razorbacks’ unit that ranked No. 89 in total defense last year?

ESPN.com blogger Chris Low has ranked Arkansas at or near the bottom of every defensive position rankings. Low has the defensive backs at 12, the linebackers at 11 and the defensive line at 10.

Hard to argue based on the performance of the last two seasons, no?

Still, Arkansas players like Jake Bequette think this is the year the Razorbacks see significant improvement:

“We’ve got guys that were young the last two years stepping up and coming into their own, and we’ve got some good players coming in. People forget that we’ve been inexperienced. I really like the way our defense is shaping up for this year.

“This is the year we connect all the dots.”
