Rector High School Cancels Football Season

7/28/2010 at 3:34pm

RECTOR - Rector High School has canceled its football season, citing a lack of eligible players.

Athletic director Mark Manchester says the senior high team had under 20 players signed up to play, and several were academically ineligible. He said the junior high team has more than 30 players and will play this season.

ArkansasSports360.com had previewed Rector's 2010 season as one in which the "secondary should be a strength."

High school coach Bob Alberson says he might allow some of the senior high players to scrimmage with the junior high team.
