8/16/2010 at 8:57am

Arkansas has confirmed that power forward Marshawn Powell has injured his foot, but did not give details on the injury. Powell posted on Facebook.com late Sunday night/early Monday morning that his foot was broken.

Apparently, the sophomore power forward was back home in Virginia when the accident occurred. He will be evaluated by team doctors in Fayetteville on Tuesday.

Here’s more from the UA:

Marshawn Powell has hurt his foot in Virginia and is returning to Fayetteville today, Monday, Aug. 16.  He will be evaluated by doctors on Tuesday at which time we will issue a release on his condition.  There will be no further comments until after his evaluation takes place.

Powell was being counted on as a key player for the Razorbacks in 2010-11. He was named to the all-SEC freshman team last year after he averaged 14.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Earlier this summer Powell attended the LeBron James Skills Camp.
