Renee Gork, fired by Hog Sports Radio after wearing a Florida Gators hat to an Arkansas Razorbacks news conference, finally got to tell her side of the story. She talked to TJ Carpenter yesterday on his northwest Arkansas radio show on The Ticket 92.1 FM.

In the interview, Gork said she received death threats as word of the incident spread on the Internet. She also said she's written a letter of apology to Razorbacks Coach Bobby Petrino, and that she initially thought the coach was making a joke about the hat during the news conference.
Gork also said that, in other jobs, she's had experience covering other teams and not being biased. She was eager to come on Carpenter's show and defend her credentials:
I just kinda wanted to explain myself to people so they realize that I am a professional, I'm not somebody who's just out to make a name for myself. I really was looking forward to covering this program, and I hope to still continue to do that, whether or not that's possible or not we'll see. But, you never know. It could be worse.
Gork also noted that, since the incident on Saturday, she's received not one but two Arkansas hats.
