By now Arkansas fans surely know quarterback Ryan Mallett set or tied 16 school records in 2009. They probably can tell you he threw for 3,642 yards with 30 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.

All were great numbers at Arkansas. Where do those stats rank in SEC history?

ESPN’s Chris Low takes a look and Mallett’s numbers seem even more eye-catching when using the league as context.

Mallett ranks eighth in single season passing yards. Mallett is one of only 10 players to throw for 30 or more touchdowns.

For a comprehensive breakdown of Mallett’s numbers we’d suggest consulting the graphic that accompanies this story. It was put together by Ampersand Design & Technology. The full-sized graphic can be viewed here.

Mallett, by the way, is ranked by one analyst as the No. 12 pro prospect in college football entering the 2010 season. Mallett is one of five SEC players in Todd McShay's Top 20.
