Pulaski Academy Coach Kevin Kelley (left) with his Central Arkansas Christian counterpart, Tommy Shoemaker, address the media at War Memorial Stadium Monday in anticipation of the 2010 Arkansas High School Kickoff Classic.
In our second of four previews featuring the games of the Arkansas High School Kickoff Classic, we examine the matchup of Central Arkansas Christian and Pulaski Academy, set for Monday, Aug. 30.
Coaches Tommy Shoemaker of CAC and Kevin Kelley of Pulaski Academy met with the media on Monday to talk about their teams, how the preseason has shaped up, the great rivalry that the two schools have had over the years, and playing at War Memorial Stadium.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $7, which includes admission to the first game, Sylvan Hills vs. Vilonia. Tickets are being sold through this week at CAC and Sylvan Hills, which are the home teams on Monday. Tickets will be available for $7 at the gate on Monday as well.
Tuesday's lineup of games is: Little Rock Parkview vs. Little Rock Mills, 5 p.m.; and Jacksonville vs. Cabot, 7:30 p.m. Parkview and Jacksonville are the home teams on Tuesday and are selling tickets through this week.

CAC was part of last year's inaugural Kickoff Classic at War Memorial, defeating Dollarway. PA was the 5A state champion in 2008, defeating Helena-West Helena Central in the title game at War Memorial Stadium. So both teams have players in the program who have experienced playing in the stadium before the largest crowds they'll likely see. They also return plenty of players who have experienced the CAC-PA rivalry, which dates back to when the schools were small programs playing on the Class A level in the 1970s.
The High School Kickoff Classic is presented by First Security Bank and sponsored by ArkansasSports360.com and KABZ 103.7 The Buzz. The second games on both nights will be broadcast on The Buzz.
