Get your DVR's ready, Arkansas fans.
UA officials announced Friday a couple of TV deals that will feature the Razorbacks prominently in 2010 (and beyond).
Arkansas announced a three-year contract extension between Cox Sports Television (CST) and Razorback Sports Properties (RSP). Here's more on what the extension means for fans:
Highlighting the new agreement will be full-game replays of Arkansas football featuring head coach Bobby Petrino and his 2010 Razorback squad, including national awards candidate and pre-season All-Southeastern Conference quarterback Ryan Mallett. Each Tuesday night at 7 p.m. during the regular season, CST will show a full game replay of the prior week’s game. The second replay will be shown on Thursdays at noon.
“Our partnership with CST continues to increase the visibility of Razorback Athletics and provide valuable exposure for our programs locally and regionally,” said Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long. “The addition of full game football replays to our CST television package will enable Razorback fans to re-live all the great moments from the upcoming 2010 football season.”
CST’s year round coverage of the Razorbacks will include a total of 28 events, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, track and field, volleyball, softball and the annual red-white spring football game. In addition, CST will offer Arkansas fans summer encores of many of the televised events from the prior year. CST will promote the Hogs across all of its social network platforms including the CST web site, Facebook, Twitter and the CST YouTube channel. Razorback events will also be highlighted on the CST Video on demand service CST NOW!
Additional components from this agreement include CST televising all RSP/Arkansas football and basketball coach’s shows. In addition, CST will also air Arkansas’ men’s basketball pregame show and preseason shows for both football and men’s hoops.
Fans in Central Arkansas looking to relive big moments or revist controversial calls during football season will have additional opportunities this fall.
KATV, RSP and the UA will air replays of all regular season games for Comcast Cable subscribers. Broadcasts will air on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on Comcast Channel 207.
Here’s more from the UA:
"We are excited that each week Razorback fans will be able to re-live every play of the 2010 football season on KATV," University of Arkansas Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Our continued partnership with RSP and KATV helps us provide even more Razorback programming to our fan base throughout the state."
KATV is the exclusive flagship television station of the Razorback ISP Sports Network. "We're really happy to be able to work with ISP and the University of Arkansas to serve Hog fans in this way," KATV General Manager and Vice President Mark Rose. "For fans who wanted to see the games again or who never saw them live, this is a way Channel 7 can serve them like no other station can. That's what being the exclusive Razorback station is all about."
The following is the on-air schedule for Razorback game replays:
