Blog Fodder: A Weekly Roundup of the Best In Razorback-Related Blogs

Bobby Petrino has made no secret of his high hopes for 2010. His players have embraced it. Local and some national media seem to have bought in.

What do fans think? For some fan perspective — with perspective — we turn to a few of our favorite Razorback-related blogs. This is a feature we hope to bring each week as the season progresses.

Arkansas Expats
Defense seems to be the primary concern most folks have for the Razorabcks in 2010. The Arkansas Expats see another issue at No. 1 on a countdown of concerns.

Events over the last 40 years or so have too often conspired to give Hog fans a bit more kinship with Charlie Brown trying to kick that ball from Lucy than I'd like to admit. Every time the pieces start to come together, something else happens to knock them apart again.

Personally, I feel like this really could be the year we kick the ball right out of Lucy's hands. But, because this is a reality-based blog, we're going to acknowledge that history could repeat itself once again.

Razorbloggers
”Continuing Expectations” at RazorBloggers.net takes a look at how Arkansas has fared in years with the most preseason hype. Sadly, if you’re an Arkansas fan, the results haven’t often matched the buildup and six examples are used as a warning:

As Razorback football fans, we have a love/hate relationship when it comes to expectations.  Having high expectations has always seemed to be akin to the “SI cover jinx” or the “Corso Curse.”  Over the years, there have been few examples of Arkansas football teams that have matched their lofty expectations.  More often than not, those seasons ended in fan disappointment, meltdown or worse.
