The six Arkansas schools leaving the Division II Gulf South Conference will do so after this academic year in all sports except men's soccer.

The Birmingham, Ala.-based league announced an agreement Friday with Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Monticello, Harding, Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas.

The colleges are leaving to form a new league with some Oklahoma schools. The plan calls for the schools to depart but still play three football games each against remaining GSC members in 2011.

Remaining GSC schools should all have at least nine football games in place for the 2011 season now.
