It might be too early to finalize travel plans, but it's not too early to speculate on possible bowl destinations for the Razorbacks.
The Northwest Arkansas Razorback Club posted earlier today on its Facebook page that it is looking into special group hotel rates for New Orleans (Sugar Bowl), Orlando (Capital One Bowl) and Dallas (Cotton Bowl). Those seem like likely destinations, but — as the club points out — there are other bowls in play.
Below we look at some of the national and regional bowl projections:
• CBSSports.com likes Arkansas in the Outback Bowl.
• SEC blogger Chris Low of ESPN.com has the Razorbacks in the Cotton Bowl.
• ESPN.com’s Andrea Adelson projects an Outback Bowl matchup against Iowa, while colleague Mark Schlabach predicts an Arkansas-Oklahoma State game in the Cotton Bowl.
• Randy Rosetta of the Baton Rouge Advocate also sees the Cotton Bowl as a likely destination for the Razorbacks.
• There is an outside chance the Sugar Bowl is in play. Scout.com’s Barrett Sallee sees the recent offensive surge as a reason Arkansas is in “contention for Bourbon Street.”
• NBCSports.com has the Razorbacks in the Chick-fil-a Bowl, (presumably to make a Bobby Petrino goes back to Atlanta reference).
