The Betting Man: Setting The Record Straight, Cashing In On Sooners-Huskies

The Betting Man needs to set two things straight:

1. Oklahoma State was favored by 4 ½ points in its 36-10 demolition of Arizona at the Alamo Bowl.

2. The word "mythical" is defined, at least in relation to one usage, as "imaginary."

Hopefully that satisfies two Website posters, Golly_G and Dem Yankees. Golly_G correctly recognized TBM failed to include the line in a previous post predicting an OSU cover, while Dem Yankees apparently believes "mythical" has a pretty darn strict definition.

Regardless, TBM thanks both for reading and hope they won money (mythical, imaginary or otherwise) on Oklahoma State. The Cowboys covered the 4 ½ in the opening minutes and barely were threatened the rest of the way.

Let's hope the next pick wins as easily. That pick is the biggest favorite on the board, Oklahoma at -17 over Connecticut at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Regular readers know TBM doesn't like huge favorites, but in this case he just can't resist. The basic reasoning is simple: The Sooners are a good team looking to at least partially erase some bad BCS memories of late, while the Huskies are a fraud.

Let's face it, W. did more to earn his first presidency than the Huskies did to earn a BCS ticket this season. Winning the Big East this season essentially is like winning a Skinniest Fat Girl contest.

Or, put yet another way, UConn better remember one thing when it prepares to take the field: Rutgers ain't coming out of that other tunnel.

TBM says OU for $400.

Postseason: 1-0-0, +$200.00

Regular season: 21-16-2, +$601.00

Balance: $1,801.00
