Nominations have been announced for the 2012 U.S. Army All-American bowl. Arkansas is well represented with seven players nominated, according to ArkansasVarsity.com.
Local nominees include: Jonesboro athlete Zac Brooks, Warren wide receiver Jalen Cobb, Bearden athlete Defonta Lowe, Pulaski Academy quarterback Fredi Knighten, East Poinsett County linebacker A.J. Turner, Pottsville lineman Jeremy Ward and Greenbrier quarterback Neal Burcham.
Cobb, Turner and Ward are all Arkansas commitments.
Only 90 players are selected among the 400-plus nominees. A roster for the 2012 game will be released later this year. Kickoff is set for Jan. 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. in San Antonio. NBC broadcasts the game.
