Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino is the highest paid coach in the SEC without a national title.
Time to update the SEC football coaching salaries list again.
Auburn announced Friday that Gene Chizik has been bumped to $3.5 million annually. He led the Tigers to a BCS national championship in January.
Chizik’s deal seems to put him at No. 4 on the list, just behind Arkansas’ Bobby Petrino. Chizik, Petrino, South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier and Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen have all received raises since the 2010 season ended.
Petrino is the highest-paid coach in the league without a national title. He is the only coach other than Saban in college football to lead two different schools to BCS bowls.
