Searcy-based Yarnell's is closing after 75 years of operation. The family-owned ice cream business offered a number of Razorback-themed flavors.

Sad news from Arkansas Business: Yarnell’s Ice Cream in Searcy is ceasing operations.

Yarnell’s has been a staple for ice cream lovers in the state and the locally-owned brand (here’s the sports tie-in) put out a number of Arkansas Razorback-themed flavors over the years.

Woo Pig Chewy is probably the most well known. There were also a few other UA-related flavors including Hog Wild About Cookie Dough.

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long tells us:

“We are saddened by the news that one of our state’s great companies is closing its doors. Yarnell’s has always been proud of its Arkansas roots and has been a partner with Razorback Athletics. We appreciate their support of our program, including their production of a variety of Razorback- themed flavors. We salute Yarnell’s for a remarkable 75 years.”

Arkansas Business has all the depressing details.

What was your favorite flavor, Razorback-themed or otherwise?
