Ryan Mallett has signed a four-year deal with the New England Patriots.
Sources confirmed Mallett, the record-setting Arkansas quarterback, inked the deal Friday morning and was headed to practice with the Patriots shortly thereafter. No financial terms were immediately known.
Mallett described himself as “blessed” and “living my dream” via Twitter.
Former Arkansas tight end D.J. Williams has also signed his deal with the Green Bay Packers. Williams, a fifth-round pick, signed for a bonus in the neighborhood of $200,000.
Little Rock Central product Charles Clay, who played fullback/tight end at Tulsa, has signed with the Miami Dolphins.
UCA linebacker Markell Carter has signed with the Patriots.
No word yet on contracts for other drafted players with Arkansas ties, including: Carolina Panthers tackle Lee Ziemba (Auburn/Rogers), Buffalo Bills Houston Texans lineman Derek Newton (Arkansas State) and Minnesota Vikings lineman DeMarcus Love (Arkansas).
