Ben Dillard and the UALR Trojans will be part of an upcoming Sun Belt Conference basketball broadcast on ESPN2.
ESPN2 will televise the Feb. 11 game between UALR and Middle Tennessee. The game has been picked as ESPN's Sun Belt Conference Wildcard game and tipoff is set for noon.
Here's more from UALR:
“We are certainly excited that ESPN2 has decided to pick up our game at Middle Tennessee. The added exposure you get from a nationally televised game is always a positive for your program,” said UALR head coach Steve Shields. “Middle Tennessee is having a phenomenal season, and we will have to play extremely well to have a chance against a very talented and well-coached team.”
Middle Tennessee (18-2) leads the East Division with a perfect 7-0 record in league play and extended its win streak to 10 games with a 59-46 victory over Arkansas State on Thursday night. The Blue Raiders are receiving 21 votes in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
UALR (8-12) is tied for first place in the West Division with a 5-1 record, coming off last year’s Sun Belt Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. UALR and Middle Tennessee last met in the semifinals of the 2011 Sun Belt Tournament, with the Trojans pulling out a 65-56 victory over the Blue Raiders on the way to the program’s first-ever Sun Belt Tournament title.
The Trojans play at Western Kentucky on Saturday. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. and Fox College Sports will broadcast.
