If you’re not a fan of the New England Patriots or New York Giants, then you might have a tough time figuring out who to root for in the Super Bowl. Granted, if you like to wager, then you’ll ultimately come up with a team (or scenarios) to root for on Feb. 5.
Perhaps none of those reasons appeal to you and you’re only watching the big game as a way to kill time between commercials. That’s fine too.
But if you’re looking to put your allegiances behind one team or the other, there are a few local ties to consider. Somebody local — including some homegrown players — will come away with a Super Bowl ring.
So the state of Arkansas will again get to claim a title after Brett Goode, a Fort Smith native and former Razorback deep snapper, won one with the Green Bay Packers in 2011.
