Arkansas State Coach Gus Malzahn made 15 stops in 14 different towns and covered approximately 1,100 miles working to promote the Red Wolves earlier this week. ArkansasSports360.com was with Malzahn for the final day of the trip, which included stops in Bryant, Pine Bluff, El Dorado, Fordyce and Hot Springs. A Northwest Arkansas television station reports Stanford has shown interest in Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long for its open athletic director's position. Bob Bowlsby left Stanford to become the Big 12 commissioner, leaving a vacancy. KNWA said Long has not responded to inquires. Long would not discuss the report when reached Thursday. He said via text message he was attending his daughter's high school graduation. read more >

Forward Devonta Abron has been granted his release from from Arkansas. Abron, who averaged 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 32 games last season, is reportedly working to get closer to home. Abron, a 6-foot-8, 255-pound freshman, started 22 games for the Razorbacks. read more >
