The Pulaski Academy Bruins, who had never achieved perfection, reached that level Saturday. Senior quarterback Fredi Knighten was nearly perfect in the Class 4A championship game, running for two touchdowns and passing for two others as the Bruins defeated the Malvern Leopards 63-28 in the Arkansas Class 4A championship game in Little Rock. read more >

Charleston Beats Barton 31-10 In Class 3A
Dustin Shelby ran for two touchdowns and passed for another to lead the Charleston Tigers to a 31-10 victory over the Barton Bears in the Class 3A Championship game Friday. Shelby scored on runs of 18 and 1 yards as the Tigers (13-1) won their third state title in the past seven years. read more >

Jim Harris: Arkansas High Schools Can't Have Enough Champions

The Arkansas Activities Association general assembly of members did nothing to change the setup in the larger high school football classifications, so the state will continue to have six different champions crowned in December. On one hand, this is ridiculous; on the other, maybe we could just give every school a participation trophy at the end of the season, like kid soccer. read more >
