Season ticket sales have improved modestly the last four years at Arkansas State. Entering last year — and coming off a four-victory 2010 — the number of ticket holders jumped. So you can imagine the optimism administrators at ASU must have as they begin making their sales push for 2012. It's hard to find a sports fan in Arkansas without an opinion on competition between the state's two largest colleges. That includes Gov. Mike Beebe, the state's most powerful sports fan and alum of both Arkansas (law school) and Arkansas State (undergraduate). Beebe, who is a fixture at ASU football games and chooses to sit on a front row seat in the upper deck, rather than a luxury suite, has long been a proponent of the game.
