Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen understands what Bobby Petrino is enduring as well as anyone possibly could. And Mullen knows there is nothing in the playbook that can ease the grief of that comes in the wake of losing a player and teammate. Mullen and the Bulldogs lost Nick Bell to cancer in 2010. What kind of college football polling world do we live in now that a No. 3 Arkansas could win Friday at No. 1 LSU and still find itself looking up at both LSU and No. 2 Alabama when the next BCS poll came out? Mark Schlabach, author and ESPN.com columnist, agreed Monday that it doesn't make sense in the way we once viewed college football rankings, but we're in a new day. Tyler Wilson made sure Arkansas didn't stumble on its way to Baton Rouge. Anything but. The Razorback quarterback had a school-record 32 completions as No. 6 Arkansas defeated Mississippi State 44-17 on Saturday. Wilson finished 32 of 43 for 365 yards and three touchdowns. read more >

Dan Mullen's been fairly happy with his Mississippi State secondary play of late, but Saturday's nationally televised game with Arkansas in Little Rock present a different challenge with the Razorbacks' corps of receivers. "They have so many of them," Mullen said Wednesday during the Southeastern Conference's coaches teleconference. "A lot of teams will have a go-to receiver and you can match your best corner against their best receiver," Mullen explained.
