Jim's Notebook: Anderson, Basketball Hogs Still Recruiting, Scheduling
It seemed to fly under the radar in Arkansas, but one of Mike Anderson's big-man targets for the current recruiting class opted to go elsewhere. D.J. Bennett, a 6-foot-9 post player out of Indian Hills Community College in Iowa, recently chose to join Lon Kruger's Oklahoma Sooners. But Arkansas is still looking far and wide for a big man, even in other continents. read more >

Jim Harris: Razorback (Men's) Roller Coaster Runs Off The Rails
Tom Collen has earned Southeastern Conference Coach of the Years honors for leading his Razorback women to the upper echelon of the league. This long-awaited turnaround season was highlighted by Arkansas' first-ever win at Tennessee. The UA women should earn an NCAA Tournament bid no matter what happens in the league tourney, in which they open play Thursday against Ole Miss. Arkansas' women don't seem to have near the problem with Ole Miss that the men's program has had for going on 15 years. Tuesday night's 77-75 Ole Miss comeback win marked the Rebels' eighth victory over Arkansas in nine games, and this group of Ole Miss seniors will be the first in the SEC to claim four wins at Bud Walton Arena. Tuesday's loss was the most disappointing game of the year for the men, who probably lost any chance at postseason beyond next week's SEC Men's Tournament. read more >

SEC Notebook: Razorback Need Sweep To Finish .500 In League; Weekly Power Poll

Arkansas, which won its first 17 games at home, has lost its last two in Bud Walton Arena. But, the other side of the coin is that the Hogs, who had lost all eight road games (six in the SEC) before Saturday, got that elusive road win at Auburn by overcoming a 17-point first half deficit to win 77-71. If Mike Anderson's first edition of Razorbacks is to finish .500 in Southeastern Conference play, the Hogs have to restore their home court edge against Ole Miss on Tuesday night in a televised game (ESPNU) and still keep up the newfound road success when they travel to Mississippi State for a Saturday night matchup. read more >
