We could call this the Houston Nutt Rules No. 2 and 3. After putting in place a rule to limit its member schools to 28 scholarship signings per football recruiting class, after Nutt had signed 37 in his 2008 class, the Southeastern Conference during its last day of spring meetings in Sandestin, Fla., answered the critics to "over-signing" by limiting signing classes now to a maximum 25 prospects. Also, starting in October the SEC will no longer allow its schools to take graduate transfers such as Jeremiah Masoli, who arrived at Ole Miss last summer after being dismissed from Oregon with one year of eligibility remaining. Masoli reportedly enrolled at Ole Miss seeking a graduate degree in Parks and Recreation Management, though everyone knew he was showing up at Oxford to fill a desperate need at quarterback for the Rebels and Nutt.
