It seemed to fly under the radar in Arkansas, but one of Mike Anderson's big-man targets for the current recruiting class opted to go elsewhere. D.J. Bennett, a 6-foot-9 post player out of Indian Hills Community College in Iowa, recently chose to join Lon Kruger's Oklahoma Sooners. Razorbacks' Anderson Lands Louisiana's Best Prep Basketball Player
Point guard DeQuavious "Dee" Wagner from Alexandria (La.) Peabody Magnet School signed his national letter of intent with Arkansas on Wednesday. He's the first of two likely signees this spring period. Also, Anderson's program received good news earlier this week when Little Rock Central product Alandise Harris, a 6-foot-6 swingman, said he was transferring from Houston to play for the Razorbacks. read more >

Why Arkansas Lost: Offensive struggles really caught up with the Razorbacks, who posted their lowest point total of the season. They shot 35.8 percent against LSU and were outrebounded 41-28. Arkansas, which had its greatest offensive success in transition this year, managed zero fast-break points against the Tigers. Early on the Razorbacks forced turnovers — including nine in the first 10 minutes of the opening half — but the defensive intensity seemed to wane after halftime. When forced into a slower tempo the Razorbacks displayed little patience or movement on offense. read more >

AP: LSU Gets Past Arkansas 71-65

Ralston Turner had 16 points to pace four scorers in double figures for LSU in a 71-65 victory against Arkansas on Saturday. Justin Hamilton registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds for LSU (13-9, 3-5 Southeastern Conference). Anthony Hickey contributed 12 points and Eddie Ludwig came off the bench to match his career high with 12 points. read more >
