Razorbacks' McKinney Signs With Houston Astros

Jared McKinney wasted little time in signing with the Houston Astros. The Arkansas outfielder was drafted No. 940 overall by the Houston Astros on Wednesday and signed over the weekend. McKinney told reporters Thursday he felt it was time to pursue professional baseball after three years with the Razorbacks. read more >

Arkansas figures to have a solid pitching staff in 2012. Many of the Razorbacks' top arms are set to return, including ace D.J. Baxendale and a talented group of freshmen and sophomores who contributed as starters and out of the bullpen. Dave Van Horn can think of a way to make the team much better, though. Getting Searcy pitcher Dillon Howard to campus would be a huge start. read more >

Van Horn Looking Ahead To 2012, Hasn't Yet Reflected On Razorbacks' 2011

Dave Van Horn hasn't had time to reflect on the season that was quite yet, but that hasn't stopped the Arkansas baseball coach from looking ahead to what will be. The Razorbacks' season ended with a loss in the NCAA regional at Arizona State on Sunday. While the ending wasn't quite what Arkansas had hoped for, a 40-22 record marked the third straight year the program has reached at least 40 wins. read more >

Razorback Signee Nimmo Taken No. 13 Overall By New York Mets

The cash-strapped Mets went a long way to find their first-round draft pick, a center fielder from Cheyenne, Wyo., who didn't even have a chance to play high school baseball. Arkansas signee Brandon Nimmo was selected No. 13 overall Monday night, capping an uncommon rise for an out-of-nowhere prospect who could one day go from country bumpkin to city slicker. read more >
