UALR point guard Taylor Ford, seeing the shot clock running down to zero, spun into the lane and put up a 6-foot runner that rolled on the rim and through with 11 seconds left, earning UALR a trip back to the NCAA Women's Tournament with a 71-70 victory over Middle Tennessee Tuesday in the Sun Belt Championship Game. read more >

The question surrounding the UALR women's basketball team in November was how the Trojans could replace the school's all-time leading scorer and two other senior starters and contend again in the Sun Belt Conference, which they won in 2010-11. There probably should never have been a question. Joe Foley didn't make the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame — before he was hired at UALR – and win 628 games in his career without already having a plan in place. read more >

AP: Trojans Eye Return To NCAA Field, Prepare For Run Through Sun Belt Tournament
Solomon Bozeman provided the lasting memory of last season's Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Trojans (15-15) shocked the field last season, winning the tournament and earning the school's first NCAA tournament appearance in 21 years. They did so as a No. 5 seed and it was Bozeman, the league's player of the year, who sank a deep 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift UALR past North Texas 64-63. Bozeman graduated after last season, along with four other seniors for the Trojans. The remaining teammates hope to build on that memory and last year's success at this season's conference tournament, which begins today in Hot Springs. read more >

Hot-Shooting Middle Tennessee Holds Off UALR, 68-60

The UALR men's basketball team (12-14, 9-3 Sun Belt) saw its four-game win streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon at the Murphy Center as Middle Tennessee (23-4, 12-1) shot 63.4 percent from the field en route to a 68-60 win over the Trojans. read more >
