Forward Devonta Abron has been granted his release from from Arkansas. Abron, who averaged 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 32 games last season, is reportedly working to get closer to home. Abron, a 6-foot-8, 255-pound freshman, started 22 games for the Razorbacks. read more >

In front of several hundred Razorback Club members in Heber Springs, Paul Haynes had the magic words to turn a quiet crowd still shaken over the Bobby Petrino firing into one ready for the football season's first kickoff. Haynes, the new UA defensive coordinator who arrived before the Cotton Bowl win over Kansas State and who joined basketball coach Mike Anderson for the club meeting Thursday night, said: "We're not just going to be known for offense around here, anymore. We're going to be known for toughness. We're going to be known for defense. We're going to be known for championship football. That's the bottom line." No one thought for a second he was just blowing smoke, either. read more >
