Regular readers of this space know it doesn't take much to get this aging scribe to reminiscing. It only took pulling out the souvenir Denver 1990 NCAA Final Four for the morning cup of Joe to get the ghosts surfacing of Razorback Final Fours Past.

So in comes Mike Anderson with “Fastest 40 minutes in basketball” style and nine years head coaching experience. Anderson is a proven winner and program rebuilder two times over. He inherits a program in far better shape than what he encountered at UAB and Missouri. Neither of those schools had the tradition, resources and support of the University of Arkansas. Snap your fingers and the Razorbacks will instantly be a national power again. Easy, right? Not so fast my friend.

Red Wolves Hire Former Mississippi State Final Four Coach As Assistant
Former Mississippi State basketball coach Richard Williams has been hired as an assistant at Arkansas State. Williams, who took the Bulldogs to the 1996 Final Four, was announced as a new member of the Red Wolves' staff Monday. He'll work for Arkansas State coach John Brady, who also took a Southeastern Conference team to the Final Four when he was LSU's coach in 2006.
