Red Wolves Looking At QB Complements For Aplin After Butterfield Injured

Arkansas State returned a record-setting quarterback for the 2011 season. Still, Coach Hugh Freeze liked what he saw from sophomore Phillip Butterfield to plan packages for him to use at quarterback this season. Freeze will likely have to change those plans after Butterfield injured his knee in a Saturday scrimmage. Early prognosis is that Butterfield suffered a torn ACL. read more >

Freeze Likes 'Competitive Spirit' On Day 2 Of Red Wolves' Practice

The Arkansas State football team was back on the practice fields Friday afternoon in shorts and shoulder pads for its second fall-camp workout. The Red Wolves started the practice with a PAT session before moving into a “pace” period. The team also held several individual and inside drills, got in more special teams work, went through passing skeletons and various other periods before ending the day with a team session. read more >
