A fearless, full-speed ahead approach served running back Knile Davis well during the 2010 season. Davis wasn’t a timid runner in piling up 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns for Arkansas. So it was a little surprising to see Davis hesitate — ever so slightly — when we visited during the Razorbacks’ SEC Media Days appearance in Hoover, Ala. Davis was offering a different opinion from Coach Bobby Petrino, and the reluctance to answer seemed to stem from him not wanting to come across the wrong way. Petrino had just questioned the team’s leadership and chemistry after praising the talent on the team. Knile Davis will be among the players representing Arkansas when SEC Media Days begin on Wednesday. He’ll no doubt field questions about his breakout 2010 season. Reporters will likely want to know the secret to a final half of the season in which he scored 12 of his 13 rushing touchdowns. They’ll want to figure out how Davis became such a weapon for the Razorbacks down the stretch.
