Salt Bowl: Benton Narrows Gap, But Bryant Still Prevails 21-14

For the first time in years, the ballyhooed Saline County "Salt Bowl" played in Pulaski County's War Memorial Stadium took on the look of a real rivalry. Sure, the teams have played the part of angry rivals in recent years with minor scuffles breaking out on the field, but that was only after Class 7A Bryant was on the way to a rout. Friday night, though, Benton finally brought a game comparable to the Hornets', only to fall short 21-14 before 23,586 fans, two-third of which were supporting Bryant. read more >

Bryant Bashes Benton for Fifth Win in a Row in Salt Bowl, 45-9
Bryant converted a 4-and-13 fake punt for its first touchdown, signaling that it would once again be the Hornets' night in their Salt Bowl showdown with Benton. About all Bryant did wrong in the first quarter was miss extra points in racing to an 18-0 lead on the way to a 45-9 romp Friday at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium. read more >
