Hugh Freeze makes no secret of his desire to recruit the city of Memphis. Arkansas State's campus is about an hour away and Freeze has ties to the area after years as a high school coach in the city. Beating the University of Memphis on Saturday wouldn't be a bad way to raise the Red Wolves' profile across the river.

The top players in Arkansas high school and college football will be honored Thursday night by the Little Rock Touchdown Club at its annual banquet. Brandon Allen will pick up his second award in two nights after being named the Landers Award winner on Wednesday night.

For the regular season, 7A/6A will consist of four divisions. But, so as to keep some of those natural rivalries, each league will look awfully close to how it appeared the past two years.

Arkansas signed five in-state football recruits in February in what was considered a down year for Division I talent in the Natural State. But much can change in a year, and it has in regard to the amount of big-time talent in the state.
