New Arkansas State football coach Gus Malzahn and returning senior quarterback Ryan Aplin made the media rounds in Little Rock on Tuesday, ostensibly to promote Saturday's Red-Black Game in Jonesboro but to also talk about the overall program now that it's under Malzahn's direction. Why ASU Lost: After falling behind 13-0, Northern Illinois scored 31 unanswered points to take control of the game. Arkansas State (10-3) started fast, but couldn't keep the momentum going and seemed slow in countering once the Huskies (11-3) made early adjustments. ASU had a nine-game winning streak end, turning the ball over five times. Quarterback Ryan Aplin had an off night, throwing three interceptions while completing 30 of 58 passes for 352 yards and a touchdown.
